The Kind Soup Care Score
KS10 means unsustainable.
Everything, all the time, mostly alone. People at this level are usually the last to say it out loud, and it is worth saying to somebody this week.
What somebody at KS10 is doing
If somebody told you this is their number, this is roughly what their week looks like.
- Everything, all the time, mostly alone.
- No reliable sleep, no time off, no cover.
- This is the level at which caregivers get seriously ill themselves.
It measures the work, not the illness
The Care Score is 1 to 10 for how much care somebody is actually giving. Two people looking after someone with the same diagnosis can be at KS3 and KS9, because what separates them is hours, nights, whether the person can be left, and whether anyone else helps.
KS0 is reserved for people who cared for somebody until they died. It is not a diagnosis and it is not medical advice.
