The Kind Soup Care Score
KS3 means weekly care.
Caring is a fixed part of the week now and you plan around it.
What somebody at KS3 is doing
If somebody told you this is their number, this is roughly what their week looks like.
- Caring is a fixed part of every week now.
- They plan around it rather than fitting it in.
- Usually several hours at a time, more than once a week.
It measures the work, not the illness
The Care Score is 1 to 10 for how much care somebody is actually giving. Two people looking after someone with the same diagnosis can be at KS3 and KS9, because what separates them is hours, nights, whether the person can be left, and whether anyone else helps.
KS0 is reserved for people who cared for somebody until they died. It is not a diagnosis and it is not medical advice.
