The Kind Soup Care Score
KS7 means around-the-clock care.
Days and nights both. You are doing personal care, and there is not much of your own life left running.
What somebody at KS7 is doing
If somebody told you this is their number, this is roughly what their week looks like.
- Days and nights both. Broken sleep is normal.
- Washing, dressing and the toilet are all theirs to manage.
- There is not much of their own life still running.
It measures the work, not the illness
The Care Score is 1 to 10 for how much care somebody is actually giving. Two people looking after someone with the same diagnosis can be at KS3 and KS9, because what separates them is hours, nights, whether the person can be left, and whether anyone else helps.
KS0 is reserved for people who cared for somebody until they died. It is not a diagnosis and it is not medical advice.
